What I like: Stargirl is a book about growing up, about non-conformity, about the affects of trying to fit in. It's a super quick read. I love Jerry Spinelli's writing style and characters.
Synopsis:
Leo Borlock hears the rumors flying through the hall: "She was homeschooling gone amok", "sniffing fumes", "an alien". She was Stargirl, a girl who manages to capture Leo's heart, despite toting her rat and ukulele to school. It's when Leo tries to help her fit in, that Stargirl has to decide who she really is.
