As I was brainstorming 'Q' topics for the day, I kept thinking of 'Q' words:  Queen, Quincy, Quack, Quimby...who the heck is Quimby?

And then my brain was like:  I think it's Mr. Quimby.

Oh right, Mr. Quimby.  But where/what/when is he from?

Thank you google.

Mr. Quimby is Ramona's dad out of Beverly Cleary's series... I personally liked the mouse and the motorcycle better than Ramona, but it amazed me that he (Mr. Quimby) randomly popped in my head after all these years.  That's staying power.

What books have stayed with you over the years?

  1. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein has a tiny space in my heart. I get teary every once in a while when I read it.

  2. Hmmm, interesting post. I've never seen the series, but Mr. Quimby is a very unique name. Nice little "Q" post.

    And nice blog!

  3. I loooove the giving tree :)

It makes me want to cry too.

  4. The Secret Garden was one of my all-time favs, and I've still got it. I'm just waiting until my kids are old enough to enjoy it.

Good luck on the rest of the A to Z Challenge!
